Main duties of the job

The appointees will work in collaboration to provide senior clinical leadership to the Specialist Palliative Care service at NMGH. The post holders also will work in partnership with the Palliative Medicine Consultants across Manchester Foundation Trust.

Qualifications
  • MBBS / MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification MRCP or equivalent Full registration with GMC and licence to practice CCT in Palliative Medicine (or within 6 months at the time of interview) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
  • MD/PhD
Experience
  • Training and work experience in Specialist Palliative Medicine in hospital, hospice and community settings Work experience in Oncology and the Primary Care setting Expert knowledge and experience of symptom control in malignant and non‑malignant conditions Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients at consultant level Up to date knowledge of relevant literature
