Consultant in Interventional Radiology

The London North West University Healthcare (LNWUH) NHS Trust is looking for a dynamic and motivated Radiologist to join a team of 60 consultants, three staff grade doctors and 23 residents working collaboratively across the three sites to provide high quality imaging service.

The successful candidate will contribute to the broad spectrum of work undertaken by our Consultant Radiologists as detailed in the job description.

The post is based at Northwick Park and Ealing Hospitals. Post-holders will be expected to cover activities on multiple sites, as required. Commitments will include relevant MDTs, imaging-guided procedures, plain radiograph, CT and MRI reporting.

Main duties of the job

General responsibilities will include acute, elective and on call work. Teaching and training are actively encouraged. There will be an on-call commitment which will include weekend working. Opportunities for teaching and management are ample.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Recognised Medical Degree
Registration
  • On GMC registered Medical Practitioner GMC specialist registration or within 6 months of CCT or have completed CESR
Knowledge & Expertise
  • Broad based general professional training in general medicine
  • Comprehensive training and experience in general imaging
  • Experience in IR including imaging guided procedures
Teaching
  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
Management & Audit
  • A broad understanding of the management role of a consultant and mechanisms
  • Knowledge of finance/budgets
Research / Publications
  • Proven ability to carry out and present research projects
  • Presentations at National meetings
