Main duties of the job
  • Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients in acute and locked rehabilitation settings.
  • Lead clinical care for up to 16 beds on Rowan 2.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide person‑centred care.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
  • Supervise and appraise junior medical staff, ensuring GMC standards and compliance.
  • Participate in service planning, business development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in annual appraisal, job planning and CPD activities.
  • Maintain professional registration, Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
Person Specification
  • Essential
    • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
    • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Desirable
    • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
    • Additional clinical qualifications.
Eligibility
  • Essential
    • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
    • Included on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months.
    • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
    • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Desirable
    • In good standing with the GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
