Job Summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Gynaecologist with an interest in Urogynaecology. You will join a team of 28 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital. This post is a Gynaecology only role covering urogynaecology elective work; Urogynaecology clinics, Urogynaecology MDT, Outpatient cystoscopy, urodynamic studies and Gynaecology theatres. The job also includes other clinical work in the form of general gynaecology clinics, Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16 and non-resident out of hours on‑calls for Gynaecology 1:16. All acute services are based at the Princess Royal site with elective activities provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop ambulatory urogynaecology services.
• A one‑stop anal sphincter injury service.
• Develop research.
• Urogynaecology clinics.
• Urogynaecology MDT.
• Outpatient cystoscopy.
• Urodynamic studies.
• Gynaecology theatres.
• General gynaecology clinics.
• Perineal trauma clinic.
• Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16.
• Non‑resident out‑of‑hours on‑calls for Gynaecology 1:16.
• Clinical admin time.
• Core SPA 1.5 PA.
• Corporate SPA 0.5 PA to support Gynaecology incident review.
• A further 0.5 PA available in the job plan for a corporate SPA role or other clinical interest – to be agreed with the Clinical Director dependent on skills and interests.
