Qualifications

  • Protected species licenses or working towards them.

Consultant Ecologist

Location: Birmingham/Remote

Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy with a growing ecological team based in Birmingham. They are looking for ecologists at all levels, from those just starting out to experienced seniors. The team works on a wide range of projects, including large‑scale residential developments, and focuses on collaboration and early design input. Their ecologists work closely with landscape and design teams to create practical, creative, and sustainable solutions.

What you’ll do:
  • Carry out ecological surveys and assessments
  • Write clear, high‑quality reports
  • Help design practical solutions in collaboration with landscape and design teams
  • Provide advice on protected species, habitats, and mitigation
  • Keep up with ecological legislation and best practice
  • Support or hold protected species licences, depending on experience
