Job Summary

We are seeking a personable, enthusiastic, and energetic Consultant to join our specialist Cost Assurance team in Ireland/Europe. You will help review and scrutinise actual incurred costs and drive supply chain improvement for major programmes and projects. The main purpose of the role is to deliver successful Cost Assurance commissions on behalf of Turner & Townsend.

Responsibilities
  • Work with a diverse team, lead and support junior members to facilitate development and growth
  • Input into the development of the service line by contributing to bids and business generation
  • Lead the ongoing refinement of internal training and product management related to the service line
  • Review construction contractor systems, controls and processes to assess ways of working and benchmark against industry best practices
  • Analyse complex construction contracts (e.g., NEC3/4/ICE Bespoke) and assess accuracy and entitlement to cost
  • Test data and information using techniques and tools such as data visualisation and trend analysis (PowerBI/Tableau)
  • Produce written findings reports with clear recommendations and messages
  • Review client-facing outputs and provide constructive feedback to colleagues
  • Foster client relationships built on trust and professionalism
  • Engage with the supply chain to promote assurance and collaboration at project/programme level
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Holds or working towards professional membership (e.g., MRICS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience of assurance or audit in construction, commercial, or accounting settings is advantageous
  • Knowledge of construction industry procurement routes, disallowed cost areas, target price setting, and cost entitlement concepts
  • Contract Management experience with NEC3/4 (Option C, E) preferred
  • Data analysis capability with PowerBI/Tableau experience preferred
  • Strong report writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and manage fluctuating workloads; professional scepticism and integrity in reviewing work
Experience

Successful candidates will have at least 7 years of relevant experience in practice or industry, with practical experience of open book/cost reimbursable contracts (e.g., NEC3/4, FIDIC).
