This major regional hospital provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including emergency, maternity, surgical, medical imaging, rehabilitation, cardiology, cancer services, and more. Serving a vast regional catchment, the hospital is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including a dedicated Interventional Suite and Intensive Care Unit. The Anaesthetic Department consists of a team of highly skilled full‑time and part‑time specialist anaesthetists. It is accredited by ANZCA for up to 12 months of anaesthetic training, making it an ideal environment for ongoing professional development. The department also offers an Acute Pain Service and an Obstetric Anaesthesia service while providing off‑site anaesthetic support for Medical Imaging, ICU, and the Emergency Department.
An opportunity exists for an experienced Anaesthetics Staff Specialist to join a dedicated team in a major regional tertiary referral hospital. The successful candidate will provide high-quality anaesthetic care across a broad range of specialties, excluding cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and transplant surgery. This role involves delivering specialist anaesthetic services, including pre‑and post‑operative care, while working closely with surgical, emergency, and critical care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to supervise and mentor anaesthetic trainees, junior medical officers, and nursing staff, contributing to a strong culture of education and professional development.
