Job description

We're looking for an experienced Construction Planner to lead programme development and control across tender and live projects. You'll work closely with pre-construction, commercial and site teams to produce realistic, logic-linked programmes and keep them on track.

Responsibilities
  • Develop tender and contract programmes (WBS, logic links, critical path, calendars, constraints)
  • Create short-term lookaheads and recovery/mitigation plans; run "what-if" scenarios.
  • Set and maintain baselines, measure progress and report against milestones
  • Resource and (where required) cost-load programmes; produce S-curves and dashboards
  • Chair/attend progress meetings and coordinate with project managers, QSs and site teams
  • Manage change control and time-risk; support EOT/forensic delay analysis with clear evidence
  • Engage the supply chain to validate durations, sequence and access/lead-time assumptions
  • Contribute to bids with build methodology, prelims input and programme narratives
  • Proven experience as a Planner in a main contractor environment
  • Strong command of Asta Powerproject/ MS Project is also welcome
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works interfaces and logistics
  • Confident communicator who can challenge assumptions and secure buy-in across teams
  • Comfortable with NEC/JCT time-related provisions and change management
  • Data-driven, detail-focused and deadline-reliable
  • Relevant qualification in construction/engineering; APM/CIOB membership (or working towards) is a plus
  • Desirable: exposure to earned value reporting
