Construction Manager - Fit Out in Cambridge. £150M Commercial Office Development | Tier 1 Main Contractor.

One of the UK's leading Tier 1 Main Contractors is seeking two experienced Construction Managers to join their team on a landmark £150M commercial office development in Cambridge. Recognised as one of the very best contractors in the country, they deliver some of the most high-profile projects in the UK and offer excellent long-term career prospects.

The Project

6-storey, £150M commercial office scheme in the heart of Cambridge. Concrete frame and façade nearing completion. Internal fit out phase about to begin. Programme runs until July 2027 with further phases valued between £85-100M, offering long-term opportunity and stability.

The Role

As a Construction Manager (Fit Out), you will take responsibility for managing internal packages through to completion, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and programme delivery. Working closely with the wider site team and subcontractors, you''ll drive progress across multiple fit out elements and play a key role in handing over this flagship scheme.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day management of fit out subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered to programme, quality, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with design, planning, and logistics teams to resolve issues.
  • Lead progress meetings with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain excellent health and safety culture on site.
  • Drive works through to handover in line with client expectations.
About You
  • Proven experience delivering fit out on large commercial office projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of internal packages (drylining, ceilings, MEP coordination, finishes).
  • Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contracting background preferred.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Track record of delivering projects to high standards and tight deadlines.
