Job Description

We seek a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead a one‑team culture and deliver technical excellence in water, wastewater, and process treatment plant projects. The role includes coordination, project management, and design leadership under a design manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design team to deliver outputs for multiple projects.
• Assist in all aspects of electrical design: site surveys, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender pricing.
• Produce procurement specifications, cable calculations, and detailed construction drawings.
• Project‑manage third‑party designs and support installation and commissioning teams.
• Engage with clients and subcontractors, including regular meetings and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures.
• Track and adjust design delivery performance to meet targets, keeping the MIDP up‑to‑date.
• Monitor and update Design Change Control and liaise between Mechanical, Civil & Structural designers.

Qualifications & Attributes

• Commitment to excellence in Health & Safety, including full compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) and other relevant H&S legislation.
• In‑depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes and equipment, including pumping systems.
• Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients.
• Ability to produce clear and concise electrical design deliverables across all design stages.
• Experience managing design delivery and project management.
• Leadership skills to motivate individuals to consistently deliver.
• Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.
• A drive for professional development and knowledge of emerging technical solutions.
• Flexibility to travel within the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Ireland.
