Overview

Pelican Pool, Inc. is a leading provider of premium swimming pool solutions, specializing in backyard design and customization for residential and commercial renovation or new construction projects. The company goal is to exceed our clients’ expectations.

As a Pool Construction Craftsman, you will play a key role in building both private and commercial swimming pools, performing tasks such as excavation work and rebar, liner, tile and coping installations, concrete and vermiculite work, etc. This position demands precision, attention to detail, and adherence to construction plans and safety regulations to ensure high-quality results.

Swimming Pool Construction & Masonry Experience
  • Assist in preparing construction sites: marking out the pool’s dimensions; use of an excavator or guide excavation digging to the required depth and ensure proper grading and slope for drainage and structural integrity according to the plan.
  • Construct wooden forms with precise measurements to shape the pool walls, if required.
  • Carry out renovations, including concrete demolition work.
  • Place and secure steel reinforcement in concrete to enhance structural integrity.
  • Set concrete forms so when troweling you ensure proper leveling and consistency.
  • If needed, provide assistance in troweling plaster finishes.
  • Install tiles and coping, ensuring proper alignment and pattern consistency around the pool perimeter to achieve a visually appealing final result.
  • Complete work orders and record all activities, including services done, before/after pictures, and chemical readings and dosages.
  • Keep the truck organized and stocked
  • Follow and Promote safety procedures
Basic Equipment & General Swimming Pool Experience
  • At times you will be requested to prepare estimates and proposals, utilizing product and labor knowledge. This will require you to participate in continuing education to be able to recommend proper system upgrades.
Basic Knowledge of the Following; However, Training Will Provided If Needed
  • Equipment specifications, hydraulics, and electrical requirements for proper installation for pad equipment and lighting installations.
  • Advanced hydraulics to ensure proper plumbing for a pool renovation requiring new lines or adding water features or a new spa.
  • Ozone systems, alternative sanitizers, chlorine and salt generators for proper pool water treatment.
  • Proper liner installation requirements, measuring, surface preparation and liner drop.
  • Commercial pool service requirements and aspects of proper repair protocols.
  • Effective leak detection strategies, including pressure testing, diving, dye testing and proper repair techniques.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Minimum OSHA 10 training to ensure adherence to safety standards on the job.
  • CPO, Certified Pool Operator designation.
  • Prior experience in construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings to accurately implement the pool build.
  • Proficiency in operating a variety of tools, including shovels, saws, drills and concrete mixers, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent measuring and alignment skills.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials, work in various positions, and meet the demands of outdoor labor.
  • Capability to lift moderate to heavy objects, typically around 50 lbs., with occasional requirements to lift up to 75 lbs.
