Overview

Gas & Water Compliance Officer (P01713) – Starting salary £40,489pa with progression to £43,690pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service. 37 hours per week (hybrid working). With over 9000 homes in our borough, we are proud of our 99.98% gas safety compliance rate – but we can always do better.

If you are passionate about making a difference and driving service improvements through effective and robust contract management, we would like to hear from you. As our Compliance Officer (Gas and Water Hygiene), you will take a lead role in managing all aspects of Gas and Water Hygiene work, including leading our ongoing programme of boiler replacement upgrades. You will manage a range of contractors, oversee small to large projects, and place the customer’s needs at the heart of all projects. Health and Safety must be at the forefront of what you do. You will ensure policies are adhered to throughout the service and have experience producing and interpreting KPIs to drive continuous improvements across the contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the management of all Gas and Water Hygiene work and the boiler replacement programme.
  • Manage a range of contractors on small, medium and large-scale projects.
  • Prioritize customer needs and maintain Health and Safety as a top consideration.
  • Ensure policies are adhered to and produce/interpret KPIs to drive improvements across contracts.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
  • Essential technical knowledge and experience of managing operational contracts.
  • Self-motivated with a strategic approach and ability to introduce new ideas and working practices.
  • Gas Safe Registration or a Level 4 VRQ in Gas Safety Management plus BOHS P901: Legionella Management or an HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness or equivalent experience.
  • Strategic mind-set with excellent budgetary control experience and the ability to drive improvements and contractor performance.
  • Ability to deliver the values and behaviours set out by the council.
