We are seeking a Compliance Officer to support the Risk & Compliance department for our client within the retail industry. This temp to perm role in Birmingham, located in the jewellery quarter requires a detail-oriented individual with Compliance experience to assist in managing internal compliance processes effectively.

Client Details

This opportunity is with a well-established organisation within the retail industry. The company operates on a small-sized scale and is dedicated to maintaining high standards in its operations. They are now seeking a Compliance Officer to join them on a temp to perm basis at their offices in Birmingham.

Description
  • Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and HMRC guidelines related to precious metals trading.
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor compliance across customer onboarding, transactions, and bullion storage.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce internal compliance policies, including KYC and Anti-Bribery procedures.
  • Perform internal audits and investigate any compliance breaches or suspicious activities.
  • Deliver staff training on compliance requirements and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
Profile
  • Previous experience in compliance or a related field within the retail industry.
  • Previous experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory roles within financial services or similar industries.
  • Good understanding understanding of UK financial regulations, AML, and KYC requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with compliance software is a plus.
