Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of podiatric care for patients that are high risk or have infections.
• Manage own caseload with support from senior colleagues.
• Assess new and existing patients and ensure they meet access criteria.
• Screen high-risk patients to monitor their condition.
• Undertake domiciliary visits across the region.
• Refer complex cases to senior colleagues as needed.
• Communicate with patients and their families regarding care plans.
• Provide foot health education in individual and group settings.

Skills

Excellent communication skill both verbal and written

Ability to assess, formulate and implement treatment plans

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Knowledge of using Dopplers and undertaking neurological tests

Ability to provide health education

Understanding of Clinical Governance

Knowledge of the management of foot pathologies

Experience of working within the NHS

Experience of working with a high risk caseload

Education

Degree/diploma in Podiatry

Registered with Health and Care Professions Council

Certificate of Local Anaesthesia
