Exciting Opportunity: Band 6 Community Palliative Care Nurse

Are you passionate about making a real difference at a profoundly important time in people's lives? We are looking for a Band 6 Palliative Care Nurse to join our community team in East Cumbria (Carlisle, Brampton, Penrith, Keswick and Wigton). This is an exciting opportunity to specialise in palliative and end‑of‑life care, supporting patients and families through some of life’s most critical moments.

You will provide expert specialist advice, guidance and support to patients, carers, relatives, clinical practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will be instrumental in assessing, planning and delivering compassionate, high‑quality care, while also sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

While your primary base will be in East Cumbria, there may be occasions to support other parts of the service, including hospital settings or West Cumbria, providing continuity of care across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert palliative care to patients with complex needs across diverse community and home settings.
  • Manage symptoms and provide holistic support to patients and their families.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Advise, educate and support colleagues and carers, promoting best practice in palliative care.
