This rolerelates to the Young Peoples work area of thePopulation Healthprogramme.The role will strengthen young people's health and wellbeing in the area byprovidingmeaningful work experience opportunities, informing young people about health and wellbeing services,and co-designing campaigns andprojects. The role will include working in partnership withyoung people,Secondary Schools, Youth Services,faithand community groupsand more.

Main duties of the job

Design and deliver interactive, needs-based workshops for young people within schools, adapting content to meet the interests and requirements of each group.

Deliver the Young Peoples Summer Placement in August 2026.

Evaluate and develop the Sixth Form Internship offer, gather feedback from each cohort to inform ongoing improvement.

Expand the internship opportunity toadditionalschools as theprogrammebecomes more established.

Coach and mentor young people to develop impactful Health Action Campaigns during the Summer Placement

Create opportunities for young people to develop leadership and confidence through activities.

Contribute to data collection to support ongoing reporting, working with both qualitative and quantitative information.

Ensure participant data is collected and inputted into the relevant database(s) including initial surveys, consent forms,case studies,ongoing monitoring, and evaluation

Build and manage strongrelationships withpartnerorganisations(GP Practices,Colleges and Schools, Youth Providers, Voluntary Sector)andotherorganisations.

Ensure principles of co-production are implemented in the development andon-goingreview of the project.

Ensure effective engagement and participation through a range of participatorymethods.

Qualifications
  • A recognised youth work, community work, health promotion, education, social sciences or related qualification, or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and safe working practices with young people.
  • Awareness of public health principles, health inequalities, and community engagement.
  • A recognised youth work qualification at degree level.
  • Training in mental health first aid, coaching, motivational interviewing, group facilitation or trauma informed practice.
  • Additional knowledge of social prescribing approaches or population health programmes.
  • Language skills in addition to English, to reflect community profile
Experience
  • Direct experience working with young people in structured or semi structured settings such as schools, youth clubs, faith groups or community programmes.
  • Proven experience designing or delivering workshops, group activities or training for young people.
  • Experience co-producing projects or campaigns with young people.
  • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with schools, youth providers, community groups or health services.
  • Experience supporting young people through mentoring, guidance, or coaching.
  • Experience collecting monitoring data and contributing to evaluation processes.
  • Experience handling confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience delivering health or wellbeing campaigns with young people.
