Job description

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Community Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Thanet Community Nursing Team, based at the brand new £10 million state‑of‑the‑art Thanet Health Hub.

The Hub, opened in Autumn 2025, offers a community diagnostic centre and a range of NHS services, including community nursing, relocation of an existing GP surgery and signposting to voluntary services such as Age UK.

As a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist you will use your clinical experience, expertise and advanced skills to provide leadership and effective caseload management, working closely with service users and other stakeholders. You will proactively manage individuals on your caseload, utilising assessment, management and prescribing skills whilst also providing senior leadership to support the wider complex caseload. This role will cross PCN boundaries.

Job Responsibilities

You will manage a complex community caseload using assessment, management and prescribing skills, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support service users across the new Hub and provide clinical leadership within the organization.

Where driving is a requirement, you must hold a full UK driving licence or a full EU driving licence (not exchanged from a non‑EU country). If you are unable to drive due to a disability, please contact the Recruitment Team at kentchft.recruitment@nhs.net quoting the vacancy reference number to discuss support options.

The role is open to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board, and to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

Applicants must provide true and accurate information in the application. We are committed to supporting candidates with disabilities and meeting diversity, equity, inclusion and equal opportunities obligations.

We ask for information about your protected characteristics on our application forms. This information is not visible to the short‑listing or interview panel, except when you choose to be considered under the guaranteed interview scheme for disability.

Vaccination against COVID‑19 is strongly encouraged for all clinical and non‑clinical staff with direct contact to patients.
