Job summary

A leading legal recruitment agency is seeking a Community Care Solicitor with over 4 years of PQE to join a team in Reading, Berkshire. The role involves managing a diverse caseload, supervising junior staff, and advocating at hearings. Ideal candidates will have robust experience in Community Care law and excellent client management skills. This position is offered on a hybrid basis.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years PQE in Community Care or Court of Protection law.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload independently.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Community Care Solicitor with 4+ years PQE to join my clients team in their Reading, Berkshire offices on a hybrid basis.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Managing a diverse caseload of Community Care and Court of Protection matters with minimal supervision. Depending on the candidate’s experience, there may also be opportunities for work involving Special Educational Needs matters.
  • Supervising and supporting junior fee earners and support staff.
  • Drafting and reviewing complex legal documents and correspondence.
  • Providing advocacy at assessments, appeals and court or tribunal hearings.
Skills, Attributes & Experience
  • Solid experience in Community Care / Public Law and / or Court of Protection matters, including overlapping issues relating to
  • Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare.
  • Experience of working with and advising Court of Protection Deputies, their clients and professionals such as case managers.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a complex caseload of privately fee-paying clients, including cases with the need for a multi-pronged approach involving public law and Court of Protection remedies.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent client care and organisational abilities.
