Flexible work schedule during M-F business hours; preference to students available after Tuesday chapel.
Position Description
Position Summary
Under general supervision of the Engineering Communications Manager, the student partners with him/her to showcase the work being done in the department on social media platforms and in other types of communications.
Qualifications
- Major Preferred Engineering
- Experience Required Previous experience and/or specialized training in communications.
- Experience Preferred Successfully proficient in telling the Engineering story.
Skills and Characteristics
- Maintains a good reputation and positive working relationship with communications manager, professors and students.
- Demonstrates dependability and reliability.
- Should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Practices good communications skills – articulates effectively.
- Ability to capture student highlights through photos or videos, and compose a very brief summary of the activity.
Job Duties
- Capture department highlights by means of photography or video
- Write a brief summary of the activity
- Work closely with Communications Manager and Department Chair to ensure the Engineering Department has a consistent presence across several social media platforms.
- Maintain consistent and reliable assistance.
Secondary Duties
Other related duties as assigned.
