Job summary

A leading legal firm in Cheltenham is seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of commercial property matters. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial property law and be responsible for drafting and negotiating leases, conducting due diligence, and providing advice to clients. This full-time role offers a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in the office each week. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

Job Title: Commercial Property Solicitor

Location: Cheltenham | Hybrid | 2 - 3 days in the office a week

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The role involves managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters with minimal supervision, including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals.
  • You will draft, negotiate, and complete commercial leases and related documentation, and advise landlords and tenants on issues such as rent reviews, break clauses, and dilapidation's.
  • You will carry out property due diligence, report on title and risk, and provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients.
  • Regular liaison with agents, lenders, surveyors, and other advisers will form a key part of the role, alongside ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm procedures.
  • You may also support junior team members and contribute to client relationship management and business development activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with ideally 5 years' post-qualification experience in commercial property. Less PQE will be considered if you have at least 5 years fee earning experience in commercial property.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK commercial property law
  • Experience handling a broad range of commercial property transactions independently
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
