A leading equipment supplier in the UK is looking for a field-based cycling sales specialist to join their team. The role involves providing demos, assessments, and education on a diverse range of special-needs cycles and mobility equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining customer relationships and achieving sales targets while ensuring a respectful communication environment for all clients. Overnight travel across England and Ireland is required as the portfolio grows.
John Preston & Co, Est 1846, a sixth‑generation Lisburn based family business require a field‑based cycling sales specialist to provide a demonstration, assessment, handover and review service for a range of all‑ability cycles and physiotherapy equipment, working both directly with disabled customers and in joint visits alongside healthcare professionals including occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
Our customer base includes the NHS, Health Service Executive, Charities, Education sector, Access to Work scheme, Motability Scheme and the disabled community throughout the island of Ireland.
• All‑ability cycling range – market leading brands: Tomcat, Van Raam, Ice Trikes & Topend.
• Physiotherapy equipment – standers, specialist walkers, gym rehab equipment and sleep systems.
• Mobility range – manual and electric wheelchairs, wheelchair power add‑ons & special needs buggies.
B2B accounts with the public sector and local charities are already established, with scope to expand market share in B2B sales, particularly for special needs buggies.
The successful candidate will join our sales team as a field‑based product specialist providing a high level of customer service and promoting John Preston & Co in a positive manner at all times.
• Previous experience with bicycles (as an enthusiast or industry professional) is essential.
• Competency with specialist cycling tools and equipment.
• Attention to detail and accurate note‑taking skills.
• Patience, respect and clear communication with disabled customers and those with learning difficulties.
• Ability to work independently, manage diaries and achieve sales targets.
The role is based at our head office in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Overnight travel within Ireland will be required and may increase as the portfolio grows.
