Job description


Proven Commercial Manager who has experience of working on complex rail programmes required for an outside IR35 contract opportunity in Birmingham.

As Commercial Manager you will a proactive, solutions focused approach to delivering rail projects and the ability to accelerate programmes to their successful delivery. .



Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with finance to produce monthly forecast, agree accruals and revalidate remaining assumptions
  • Support cost control and forecasting activities, including monitoring actual and anticipated expenditure, validating contractor cost submissions, and updating internal reporting tools in line with programme budgets
  • Maintain open and regular communication with the contractor's commercial team, supporting a collaborative working environment and helping to resolve issues informally where possible before they escalate.
  • Work closely with the supply change to manage change and assure and assess CE's


Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in Commercial Manager level roles delivering complex rail projects.
  • Experience using the NEC4 contract
  • Demonstrable skill in working positively and proactive with the supply chain to work in the best commercial interests of the client but at the same time maintain effective working relationships
  • Proactive, solution focussed and be able to work at extreme pace to meet tight timescales Experience in being able to come into mature projects and pick up commercial management with little handover
