Job summary

A leading infrastructure firm is seeking an Interim QS/Commercial Manager in London to lead Change Management on a major infrastructure programme. The ideal candidate will have a degree in quantity surveying or commercial management, with extensive experience in NEC3 contracts and managing complex change in large-scale projects. This role offers a daily rate of £500-£600 for a duration of 6 months.

Interim QS/Commercial Manager (Change Lead) – Infrastructure | £500-£600/day | Outside IR35 | London | 6 Months

We’re hiring for a driven and experienced Commercial Manager (or Senior Commercial Manager) to take a lead role in Change Management on a major infrastructure programme in London.

This role is perfect for a commercial professional with a quantity surveying background, excellent working knowledge of NEC3 Option C, and experience managing complex change, value engineering and cost mitigation in large-scale infrastructure or MEP-heavy environments.

️ What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead the commercial management of change, value engineering, and optioneering
  • Manage compensation events, entitlement, and NEC3 contract administration
  • Collaborate with construction and technical teams to drive commercially viable outcomes
  • Liaise with the client and ensure upstream agreement on all commercial change items
  • Lead change forums, risk reduction meetings, and commercial reporting
  • Develop metrics, dashboards, and cost control processes for change activities
  • Provide contractual advice, manage communications, and maintain full governance compliance
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree-qualified in quantity surveying or commercial management

  • Experience on major infrastructure and MEP-heavy projects

  • Deep understanding of NEC3 contracts, especially Option C

  • Strong change management, cost forecasting, and reporting skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation ability with internal and external stakeholders

  • Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused

  • Experience in claims, dispute resolution, and UK contract law

  • Collaborative and adaptable mindset with the ability to lead junior team members
