We're looking for a dynamic Commercial Manager to lead our Control Systems team within Major Programmes. As our Commercial Manager, you'll lead a talented team, develop and implement commercial strategies, and ensure our contracts and partnerships deliver maximum value. Responsibilities
- Leading & Inspiring: Manage and mentor the commercial team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
- Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and management of complex contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company policies.
- Financial Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure robust financial performance.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks, conducting regular reviews and implementing effective strategies.
- Procurement & Supply Chain: Oversee procurement activities to secure cost‑effective purchasing of materials and services.
- Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain commercial KPIs, preparing clear and accurate reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring effective communication and negotiation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar industry (broader Utilities, Construction, infrastructure, etc.).
- Strong background in portfolio commercial management, with a track record of managing complex contracts and relationships.
- Expertise in NEC3 and NEC4 contracts (especially options A, C & E) and NEC Two‑Stage Contract experience (Early Design & FEED).
- Exceptional leadership skills, including experience managing and developing remote teams.
- Ability to foster a culture of openness, trust, and collaboration with the supply chain.
- Experience in dispute management and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Experience working on Control Systems projects would be advantageous.
- Professional qualifications such as RICS Chartered Member (MRICS).
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ / PPQ).
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or NCMA Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).
