Responsibilities
  • Supporting and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Administrators
  • Providing commercial leadership across contracts, ensuring full compliance with contractual rights and obligations
  • Shaping and implementing commercial strategies to drive performance and profitability
  • Managing budgets, cost controls, and overall financial performance
  • Overseeing contract negotiations and securing commercially favourable terms
  • Leading cost value reconciliation processes and effective cash flow management
  • Resolving complex contractual matters, including claims and disputes
  • Ensuring subcontractor agreements are commercially sound and aligned with business objectives
Qualifications
  • You are an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in commercial management within the utilities sector.
  • You will have significant leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop high‑performing commercial teams.
  • You will bring a deep understanding of NEC3 contracts, particularly Options A and C, supported by strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • You will be confident managing project profitability and risk, with excellent analytical, negotiation, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Additionally, you will be a clear and confident communicator, capable of presenting complex commercial information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • You will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, be resourceful, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strategic focus and strong attention to detail.
