Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Dartford Head Office (DA2 6SN)

Select Power Solutions provide temporary site services and cutting-edge alternative power and battery solutions designed to sustainably power buildings and entire construction sites.

About the Opportunity

Select is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead for the Power Solutions business delivering for Laing O'Rourke as well as into the external market.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting into the business stream leader, manage, supervise and be responsible for all commercial aspects of the Power Solutions business across 60+ live projects. Providing a commercial, contractual, and financial management service to ensure product and business profit objectives and targets are met all in a manner consistent with the Group processes, including:

  • Preparation and management of business plan and quarterly forecasts.
  • Preparation of monthly P&L reports monitoring against forecasts, input into management accounts.
  • Working with the estimating team, preparation, reviewing and approval of bids.
  • Client negotiations on contract/order terms, ensuring that contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement.
  • Oversee the commercial team. Day to day management of commercial assistants, quantity surveyors etc in operation of voucher systems and preparation, submission and agreement of applications and invoices, and variations.
  • Ensure the career development needs of the wider commercial team are met and offer support with the development of the wider Select commercial function.
  • Guidance and drafting, managing and settling of subcontracts. Drafting and preparation of claims as necessary.
  • Negotiating with client's representatives, sub-contractors and other consultants to achieve best project results whilst maintaining group relationships.
  • Reviewing processes and implementing improvement where necessary.
