A facilities management provider in the UK is seeking a COM Supervisor / COM Manager to oversee maintenance at RAF Lakenheath and other bases. You'll lead a team of engineers to ensure timely and quality maintenance, uphold health and safety standards, and liaise with military personnel. Salary: Up to £35,000 + a company car
Working Hours: 40 Hours per Week (7:30AM - 16:30PM)
We are looking for a COM Supervisor / COM Manager to oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance tasks at RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of essential services for the United States Visiting Forces, managing a team of engineers and operatives while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Your key responsibilities will include leading and managing a team of 9 engineers and operatives, ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed on time and to the highest quality. You will oversee subcontractors, ensuring compliance with COM processes, KPIs, and SLAs, while also providing expert technical support to Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and Head of Establishment (HoE) representatives. Health & Safety compliance will be a top priority, and you will be responsible for ensuring that all RAMS documentation and risk assessments are in place.
You will attend move ins, visit properties to snag them and liaise with the USVF client to ensure all properties meet the required standard.
Exceptional service delivery is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with military personnel, DIO, and VIVO's supply chain to maintain strong working relationships. You will also conduct team briefings, deal with disciplinaries, deliver toolbox talks, and mentor apprentices to support the development of your team.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH. A full UK driving licence and the ability to obtain SC level Security Clearance are essential. You should hold an SMSTS qualification or be willing to upskill towards one, and you must have demonstrable experience in managing maintenance or construction contractors. A background in void properties, along with excellent communication skills, reliability, and self‑motivation.
Previous experience in an MOD environment or existing SC clearance would also be beneficial.
