Job summary

A leading aerospace precision engineering firm is seeking a fully skilled CNC Mill / Turn Setter / Operator for their night shift team in Poole. The role includes setting and operating CNC machines, manufacturing components to high precision, and maintaining quality standards. Applicants should have completed a recognized apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and have experience with FANUC controls. This full-time, permanent position offers an hourly rate of £20.16 – £21.36, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace sector.

CNC Mill / Turner - Setter / Operator - Night Shift
  • Location : Poole, Dorset
  • Hourly Rate : £20.16 – £21.36 (night shift allowance included)
  • Hours : 39 hours / week, Monday to Thursday nights (Friday off!)
  • Employment Type : Full-time, Permanent
  • Start Date : ASAP

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC Mill / Turn lathe machines using FANUC controls.
  • Manufacture precision-turned components to customer drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect your own work to drawing and SPC requirements.
  • Maintain a high standard of engineering quality and 5C / 5S workplace organisation.
What We’re Looking For
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong, proven engineering ability — fully skilled.
  • Experience with FANUC controls and a solid background in the aerospace sector.
  • Knowledge of Nakamura machines with bar feed is advantageous but not essential.
