Job summary

A precision engineering company in the UK is seeking an experienced CNC Turner for a contract role until December 2026. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to manufacture high-precision components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, be skilled in using precision measuring tools, and have great attention to detail. This role offers an hourly rate of £17.00-£18.60 and regular working hours from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner or similar role in precision machining.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges.
  • Able to follow and understand Engineering Drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce parts to specified tolerances.
  • Conduct regular in-process checks to ensure components maintain dimensional accuracy.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:15, Friday – 7:30 – 11:30.

Overview

Are you a skilled CNC Turner? Your next big opportunity is here! We are looking for a CNC Turner who is hardworking with great attention to detail within the manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to produce parts to specified tolerances.
  • Select and set up appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
  • Perform machine setups and tool changes efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges) to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Conduct regular in-process checks to ensure components maintain dimensional accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner or similar role in precision machining.
  • Experience working in Aerospace (not essential)
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges.
  • Able to follow and understand Engineering Drawings.
  • Great attention to detail.
