CNC Programmer / Operator – Birmingham (Shop-Floor Based)

Salary : £35,000–£40,000 per annum

Hours :

Monday–Thursday : 07 : 00–16 : 00

Friday : 07 : 00–13 : 00

Benefits : Early Friday finish, overtime available, 28 days holiday per year

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Programmer / Operator to join our Birmingham-based team (Hockley). This is a hands‑on, shop‑floor role supporting our machining operations to ensure high‑quality output and efficient production.

While Hypermill experience is an advantage, we welcome applicants with a solid CNC programming background who are willing to learn new systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate CNC machinery to meet production requirements
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and 3D models
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimise machining strategies
• Perform tooling setup, machine adjustments, and first‑off inspections
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and safety
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across machining processes

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer / Operator
• Hypermill experience preferred but not essential
• Must live within the Birmingham area or have a reasonable daily commute to Hockley
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
• Positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
