Job summary

A leading manufacturing company is looking for a skilled CNC Milling Machine Operator to program and set up machines for aerospace component production. You will work with CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis machines, ensuring quality standards are met and striving for continuous improvement in machining processes. The ideal candidate should have experience with Fanuc and Sinumerik controls, and EDGECAM software, alongside a thorough understanding of cutting technologies. This role is crucial for maintaining production efficiency and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis Milling machines.
  • Ability to program online and offline.
  • Understanding of machine tolerances and standards.

OVERALL PURPOSE:

To program, set and operate CNC Milling Machines for the production of aerospace components.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Program CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis Milling machines online via Fanuc and Sinumerik controls
  • Program offline via EDGECAM,
  • Setting and production of first offs to ensure requirements are met and standards / tolerances are repeatable,
  • Producing machine set-up documentation,
  • Keeping abreast of cutting technology; identifying and developing new processes and striving for continuous improvement in CNC machining,
  • Liaising with management to ensure programme timescales are met or advised of potential difficulties,
