CNC Programmer

We’re supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in their search for an experienced CNC Miller with strong Heidenhain programming experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a Time-Served Machinist who takes pride in high-precision work and wants to join a dependable, collaborative team.

The Role

As a key member of the machining department, you will:

  • Meet exacting customer requirements and deliver high-quality, precision-machined components.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Create, load, edit and save CNC programs using Heidenhain controls.

  • Set tooling, establish work piece datums and plan machining methods for efficient production.

  • Monitor tool condition, make adjustments where needed and maintain exceptional housekeeping standards.

  • Self-inspect your own work and ensure safe working practices at all times.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Time-Served Machinist with minimum 4 years’ experience.

  • Strong understanding of machining techniques and CNC milling.

  • Competent in programming on-machine and offline.

  • Heidenhain programming experience – essential.

  • CAM programming experience essential; Powermill highly desirable.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and self-inspect critical features.

  • Experience producing complex parts to tight tolerances.

  • Knowledge of mould tools is an advantage.

  • Well-organised, dependable, and able to work on your own initiative.

  • Strong team player with the ability to build effective working relationships.
