Job Description

This role is based within our Mould Shop and is responsible for delivering high quality equipment to the Production team in a safe and time conscious manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage Computerised Numerical Control (CNC)
  • Perform manual and programming for CNCmachines to produce high-quality components.
  • Set up machines, including tooling, workholding devices, and cutting parameters, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machining processes, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to produce parts to specification.
  • Perform regular maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs.
  • Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
  • Operate CNC lathes when required, demonstrating versatility in machining operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, machine performance, and maintenance activities using data entry skills and software such as Excel and Word.
  • Adhere to 5S principles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
  • Perform tool grinding and management to maintain optimal cutting performance.
  • Strictly follow all safety measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5-6 years of experience operating CNC vertical machining centres (VMC) and CNC lathes
  • Proficiency in manual and 2D programming for CNC and VMC machines
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and materials
  • Experience with tool grinding and management
  • Excellent understanding of quality control procedures and proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
  • Familiarity with 5S principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for data entry and reporting
  • Knowledge of mould materials and their properties, including hardness applications
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and stay updated with the latest CNC and VMC technologies
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
