CNC Milling Operator (Nights)
Pay: £16.00 per hour
(£14.00 base rate + £2.00 night shift allowance)

Nights: Monday–Thursday, 6pm–6am

We’re currently recruiting for two experienced CNC Milling Operators to join a precision engineering business in the area. These are permanent, full-time night shift positions, offering a great opportunity for experienced machinists to work with high-quality components in a clean, well-equipped workshop.

The Role

As a CNC Milling Operator, you’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth production runs through the night, continuing jobs set up during the day and maintaining quality standards. You’ll work on 3- and 5-axis milling machines using Heidenhain controls.

Key Duties

• Continuing production of pre-set parts
• Making setting and tooling adjustments as needed
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Inspecting your own work (using both manual tools and CMM equipment)
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Producing high-quality work to exact specifications
• Working collaboratively with the day shift to ensure smooth handovers

Experience & Skills Required

• Time-served or equivalent experience in precision machining
• Confident with Heidenhain controls
• Capable of setting and operating CNC milling machines
• Able to inspect own work using gauges and CMM equipment
• Comfortable working to tight tolerances
• Experience with a range of materials (steel, brass, bronze, aluminium, plastics, super duplex, etc.)
• Strong team player with a flexible attitude
