The ideal candidate will operate precision CNC Mills, work with complex engineering drawings, and ensure high-quality production. CNC Mill Operator - Aerospace Company

Location: Fareham/Gosport
Salary: Up to £21.71 p/h
Hours: Days, Lates and Earlies

Are you an experienced CNC Miller Setter/Operator with a passion for precision and quality? Join a leading aerospace engineering company where your skills will help shape the future of flight.

We're looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic manufacturing team. If you thrive in a high-precision, fast-paced environment and are confident working with Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC Mills with Heidenhain control systems.
  • Interpret and work from complex aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Machine components to tight tolerances and superior surface finishes.
  • Conduct in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometres, verniers, bore gauges).
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and tools.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all health & safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to meet design and customer requirements.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience operating CNC Mills in aerospace or precision engineering settings.
  • Confident trouble‑shooting and editing directly at the machine.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Experience with AS9100 quality standards (preferred).
  • Skilled in using a range of precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team.
  • NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
Desirable (But Not Essential)
  • Background in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
  • Experience operating multi-axis milling centres or live tooling machines.
