Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a CNC Mill-Turn Machinist for a dayshift role in Cheltenham. This position offers £18-£25 per hour based on experience within a high-precision engineering environment. You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines, producing high-quality components, and maintaining safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a strong CNC Mill-Turn background and experience with Fanuc controls, particularly Mori Seiki machines. Overtime available as well.

CNC Mill-Turn Machinist (Dayshift) – £18‑£25 per hour + overtime | 43 hours per week | Permanent

Location: Cheltenham

Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill‑Turn Machinist to join a high‑precision engineering environment working on complex, small‑batch components. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently and committed to producing top‑quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC Mill‑Turn machines (experience with Mori Seiki NTX or NLX machines is highly desirable).
  • Work confidently with Fanuc controls, ideally with Mori Seiki‑based Fanuc systems.
  • Manufacture high‑precision components in exotic and semi‑exotic materials, including Inconel, titanium and stainless steels.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and produce small batches to tight tolerances.
  • Carry out your own in‑process inspection to ensure parts meet specification.
  • Maintain excellent standards of accuracy, safety and productivity.
About You
  • Strong CNC Mill‑Turn background – mill‑turn experience is essential.
  • Skilled in setting and operating; programming experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Confident machining high‑value, difficult materials.
  • Able to work independently, problem‑solve, and deliver consistent, high‑quality work.
  • Detail‑focused, reliable and quality‑driven.
Hours & Pay
  • Dayshift only – 43 hours per week.
  • Overtime available.
  • £18‑£25 per hour depending on experience.
