Job summary

A leading steel production company is seeking a CNC Machinist to undertake general machining, primarily milling, to manufacture high precision products. This full-time position involves operating CNC machine tools and adhering to complex engineering specifications. Responsibilities
  • As a CNC Machinist in this department, you will undertake general machining (predominantly milling) to manufacture high precision products.
  • Operating and programming CNC machine tools.
  • Working to complex engineering drawings.
  • Machining large steel castings and forgings.
  • Slinging and crane driving, manoeuvring large components to facilitate machining operations.
  • Use of Continuous Improvement tools such as 6S to maintain standards.
About You
  • Experience in using both manual and CNC machines.
  • Extensive experience in milling, ideally multi-skilled in turning and boring as well.
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
  • Ability to write and understand CNC programs.
  • Experience of crane driving and slinging is highly desirable.

All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 - 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, on a 3-shift pattern of mornings, afternoons and nights.
