Job description

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting:

We are looking for CNC Horizontal Borer Operators for permanent positions based with our client in Sheffield.

This is a permanent position working either days (6am‑4pm Monday‑Thursday) or nights (4:30pm‑2:30am Monday‑Thursday).

Rate of pay:

• Days rate: £17.40 per hour for Monday‑Thursday 6am‑4pm. Overtime after 4pm and on Friday 6pm‑1pm at time ½.
• Night rate: £23.20 per hour for Monday‑Thursday 4:30pm‑2:30am. Overtime after 2:30am to 4:30am during the week and Friday afternoon overtime at time ½.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Primarily operating, setting and programming CNC Horizontal Boring machines.
• Modifying programs as required to ensure quality workmanship at all times.
• Checking tool dimensions and precision measuring instruments.
• Working in line with company procedures and machine capability to ensure production deadlines are met.
• Adhering to Quality and HSE Standards and policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous CNC Horizontal Borer experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• A team player.
• Organised, focused and able to adopt a high level of attention to detail within your work.
• Understanding and appreciation of health and safety.
• Ability to use initiative.
