A leading quality management firm in Coventry is seeking an Inspection / CMM Programmer to join their quality team. You will work on high-performance components, ensuring rigorous standards of dimensional accuracy, quality, and documentation. The role involves programming CMM machines and collaborating with engineering teams. Ideal candidates will have experience in CMM programming and using hand measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Skilled in programming CMM machines, ideally using Calypso or PC-DMIS.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with hand measuring equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general inspection duties as directed by the Principal Inspector.
• Verify supplier ISIRs including dimensional and material checks.
• Liaise with Engineering, SQA, and Quality teams for issue resolution.

Job description

Were looking for a skilled Inspection / CMM Programmer to join our quality team, working on high-performance components including products within our F1 range . This hands‑on role is key to ensuring the highest standards of dimensional accuracy, quality, and documentation throughout the inspection process.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general inspection duties as directed by the Principal Inspector and as detailed on Product Inspection Requests (PIRs)
• Verify supplier ISIRs (Initial Sample Inspection Reports), including dimensional, material, or process‑related checks
• Liaise with Engineering, SQA, and Quality teams to resolve product or supplier issues
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to create ISIR documentation
• Use hand measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and shadowgraphs
• Program CMM machines (Calypso or PC‑DMIS software preferred) for F1 product inspections
• Support the use of 3D scanning and surface finish equipment (experience desirable but not essential)
• Maintain accurate and timely inspection records and documentation
