Job description
Overview

This role is based at Waters Green Medical Centre in Macclesfield, in addition to working across our satellite clinics based in Handforth and Alderley Edge. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to support in the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a Clinical Support Worker you will predominantly work in the Cheshire East Dermatology department. The post holder will undertake a range of clinical care duties as delegated by the Registered Nurse.

The role is part time. Initially 13.5 hours working over a Tuesday and Wednesday. Subject to review in line with the changing needs of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of patient care, following agreed plans, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, independently carrying out tasks and activities relevant for the job role/place of work, which have been agreed and assessed as competent in practice.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team/agencies to ensure that patient needs are met.
  • Involve patients, relatives/carers in the delivery of care, providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding and co-operation.
  • Prepare the clinical area for safe practice by ensuring that cleanliness is maintained, materials and equipment are ready for use, including clearing away afterwards.
Main duties of the job
  • The main duties of the post involves, chaperoning, basic wound care, obtaining patient samples, assisting in minor surgery clinics, ensuring equipment is available and maintained for use by the whole department.
  • The role also includes various administrative duties, therefore good IT skills would be an advantage.
Experience and Requirements
  • Experience would be preferable, however training could be provided for the right applicant who shows the quality and skills required for patient care in a rewarding challenging environment.
  • No remote/teams assessments or interviews will be available due to the face-to-face nature of the role.

  • MCHFT provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care as well as child health, maternity services, and intermediate care across our sites at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.
