Are you a skilled registered nurse with excellent interpersonal skills and sound clinical assessment skills? Are you passionate about supporting nurses to provide excellent, holistic care? This role offers a comprehensive nursing induction programme and clinical supervision, with opportunities to learn and develop within our neighbourhood nursing teams.
We are looking for clinical skills facilitators to work with and support the Practice Educator to develop, maintain and support learning, development and growth within our neighbourhood nursing teams using evidence-based practice. You will collaborate with all members of the neighbourhood nursing teams to provide comprehensive, evidence-based practice and assess the quality of a range of practice learning environments, determining interventions to sustain and enhance practice education. You will ensure all localities have an up-to-date action plan in place and support the development of clinical supervisors, assessors and preceptors, providing supervision and support structures to build education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Deputise when required in the Practice Educator's absence, delegate work appropriately and attend meetings as assigned.
- Identify opportunities and work with Practice Educator and Locality Leads on planning, designing, delivering and reviewing inter-professional learning opportunities and education in practice for health care learners, supervisors, assessors and preceptors.
- Collaboratively identify learning needs of different professional groups within Neighbourhood Nursing Teams, ensuring interprofessional learning outcomes meet educational policies, SOPs and Clinical Competencies.
- Provide best practice advice in the clinical setting for practice assessors, mentors, preceptors and staff in relation to education in practice.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date records of practice assessors and preceptors in the practice setting.
- Monitor staff performance in line with MCH policies and clinical competencies; work with the Education Team and Locality Leads to develop action plans to support development where needed.
- Organise and prioritise own workload; promote self-management to enable patients to manage long-term conditions and respond to deterioration.
- Work closely with team members, provider services, health and social care partners and GPs to identify high-risk patients and ensure access to relevant services through holistic assessments.
- Support staff to complete holistic assessments of patients referred to Neighbourhood Nursing and liaise with teams on treatment needs.
- Assist in monitoring the quality of nursing services and contribute to quality measures; participate in clinical audits and implement changes in practice.
- Undertake the team's appraisal and performance development planning, identifying training needs and ensuring appropriate training is provided and applied in practice.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and clinical assessment skills.
- Experience in supporting nurses to provide holistic, evidence-based care and a track record of facilitating learning and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with neighbourhood nursing teams and other partners to deliver education in practice.
- Commitment to learning, professional development and robust supervision structures; capacity to contribute to annual quality review and programme evaluation.
- Note: At this time, MCH cannot fund or support any further nurses who require OSCE training. Please do not apply if you require this training.
