A renowned healthcare provider located in Gorleston-on-Sea is looking for a Clinical Scientist (Audiology) or Chief Audiologist. This role involves leading the Audiology service at the new Community Diagnostic Centre. You will ensure top-quality assessment pathways for adults, children, and patients with tinnitus, while supervising staff and engaging in quality assurance processes. You will join us at an exciting time as we extend our Audiology service into the newly built, on-site, Community Diagnostic Centre where we will provide adult, paediatric and tinnitus assessment pathways. We are also involved with the planning of our new hospital due to open in 2031/32.
We are searching for a forward‑looking and enthusiastic person to join us. You will be expected to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team and as such have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will hold a BSc/MSc in Audiology or nationally recognised qualification in Audiology and have appropriate post‑qualification experience in an NHS Audiology Service. You will be registered with the AHCS or HCPC as a Clinical Scientist or working towards registration.
Although based in the Audiology department, your role will be to ensure the day‑to‑day delivery of the Audiology service in the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) including the supervision of junior staff and undertaking the diagnostic assessment of patients referred on Paediatric, Adult and Tinnitus pathways. The post may also include undertaking audio‑vestibular assessments and rehabilitation on all patient groups at the main Audiology site.
You will lead and be actively engaged in the UKAS IQIPS accreditation process for the CDC and main Audiology department. You will also take part in the quality assurance, audit and peer review of the service.
The post is full time, but there is the opportunity to work flexible hours within a 4/5 day week or 9 day fortnight.
