Job description
Job Summary

Interviews for this role will take place on 15/12/25 in the morning. We are looking for a proactive and experienced part time Clinical Pharmacy to join our Primary Care Network (PCN) team on a Thursday and Friday, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Aspen is a large single-practice PCN; you'll work closely with pharmacy staff and prescription clerks, receiving direct support and supervision to thrive in your role.

Main duties

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with GPs, clinical pharmacists, nurses and administrative staff to ensure patients receive safe, effective and evidence-based treatment. The clinical pharmacist will work as part of the general practice team, providing expertise in clinical medicines management and safety across a range of aspects such as long-term condition management, day-to-day medication queries, acute prescription requests, supporting hospital discharge prescribing arrangements and follow-up, actioning MHRA alerts and targeted medication reviews. This is a predominantly telephone based role but there may be scope to oversee additional responsibilities. You will also be involved in all aspects of leading and delivering on medicines safety. You will be expected to help streamline processes and develop protocols to allow for safer prescribing and to meet CQC expectations.

This role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies, so requires motivation and passion to deliver an excellent service within general practice. It would be required that you are already an independent prescriber with primary care experience, however primary care experience is not essential. As part of the role, if you have not already undertaken this, you will be expected to complete the CPPE primary care pathway.
