Job description
Overview

A Senior Clinical Paediatric Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics will work alongside 14 existing SPRs within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate at University Hospital of Wales. The post commences 05 August 2026 and lasts 12 months.

Responsibilities
  • Provide middle‑grade cover for clinical sessions and be on call for both adult and paediatric trauma alongside specialty registrar trainees.
  • Conduct independent operating sessions with supervision from three consultants specialising in paediatric orthopaedic conditions.
  • Attend multidisciplinary and school clinics to support paediatric trauma care.
  • Timetabled research sessions to further academic development.
  • Collaborate within a busy trauma centre featuring dedicated trauma theatre and a regional PICU.
Qualifications
  • Post FRCS (Orth) training or equivalent, with a strong interest in paediatric trauma and orthopaedics.
  • Current immigration status must be confirmed, including visa expiry dates.
  • Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa sponsorship required for non‑UK or RoI nationals (self‑assessment encouraged).
