Overview

Are you an experienced Dermatology nurse with a passion for community care? Do you advocate for clinical excellence, innovation and a holistic approach? Are you looking to develop a Dermatology leader? You could be our new Clinical Nurse Specialist! This is a role for a confident Dermatology Nurse, with the skills and experience to lead community clinics across Coventry. You will be comfortable working independently in prescribing clinics and in carrying out minor operations, punch biopsies, curettage, shave and simple excisions. You will enjoy working with a diverse caseload, providing specialist advice, assessment and support to patients and their families across the community.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support dermatology community clinics across Coventry as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• Oversee patients receiving Disease Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs (DMARDs) including blood monitoring processes and reviewing relevant blood forms.
• Interpret results within departmental protocols and escalate concerns to the consultant team as needed.
• Coordinate prescriptions in a timely manner and use digital systems to track results, document communications, and manage prescribing tasks.
• Act as a key point of contact for patients and their families, communicating effectively by phone and building strong therapeutic relationships.
• Carry out minor procedures within prescribing clinics (punch biopsies, curettage, shave and simple excisions).
• Provide specialist advice, assessment and support to patients and their families across the community, with a diverse caseload.

Qualifications and experience

• Experience as a Dermatology nurse with ability to lead community clinic activities.
• Desirable: previous experience with DMARD monitoring; training and support will be provided where needed.
• Strong time management and digital literacy skills to manage prescriptions and use digital systems.
