Overview

I'm currently working with an award winning and well-regarded law firm in Liverpool that is seeking to expand its clinical negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Paralegal, with demonstrable experience in clinical negligence to join a supportive and growing team.

The role will be office-based in Liverpool and will involve assisting the Head of Department with a mixed caseload of low-mid value clinical negligence as well as higher value/more complex matters from inception to settlement or litigation.

The Role

The successful candidate will work on a caseload of pre-litigated and clinical negligence matters. This includes liaising with clients, experts, counsel, and third parties, as well as preparing legal documentation such as medical instructions and letters of claim. There will be long-term opportunities to progress, including running their own clinical negligence caseload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and investigate claims, including reviewing medical records and obtaining expert evidence.
  • Draft letters of claim, witness statements, and court documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other parties throughout the life of the case.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-action protocols and court deadlines.
  • Work within a busy and collaborative team, meeting internal targets and service standards.
  • Assist and collaborate with senior solicitors.
