We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Clinical Lead - Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our professional team in Medway. We're a close team but we're never exclusive; if you can bring a professional approach and fresh ideas we would love to hear from you.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Level 6 Degree or equivalent qualification as a Learning Disabilities Nurse or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience plus a diploma in Learning Disabilities nursing.
  • You will be a registered health care professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
Experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively within your area of practice, supported by relevant experience. As well as managing complex caseloads and supporting/ mentoring others.
  • You will need to be able to use IT systems and databases
Knowledge
  • Having an awareness of developments within the NHS would be an advantage as well as an understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance
  • You will have knowledge of up to date clinical practice by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based procedures and clinical effectiveness frameworks
  • You will fully understand the role and remit of a health care worker
Skills
  • You will need to have sound communication skills in order to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing
  • You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be able to organise your own work
  • You will need to be adaptable in work as things change as part of working in a wider team
Personal Attributes
  • Tact and sensitivity will be essential in this role, there will be times when you see distressing situations which may include vulnerable, violent or aggressive patients
  • You will have the ability to focus on the details and spot any potential problems
  • You will know when you are within your own limits and when to escalate
