Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic Clinical Lead for Emergency Services leader to work alongside the Senior Matron. As the Clinical Lead you will provide senior clinical authority, governance, operational leadership and strategic oversight of the Emergency Department. As the Clinical Lead you must be passionate about delivering high quality compassionate care, and also equipped with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

As Clinical Lead You Will Be
  • A visible nurse leader and role model for Emergency Services with the responsibility and accountability for professional standards.
  • Professionally accountable and maintain the standards of professional practice as set by the appropriate regulatory body applicable to your profession or role.
  • Accountable for identifying and ensuring improvements in patient safety, patient experience and effectiveness of service.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Matron, Clinical Director & Group Directorate Manager, lead the implementation and delivery of the clinical service improvement plan.
  • Providing expert advice to the Group Directorate on all nursing matters.
  • Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation's objectives.
  • Providing line management for Senior Sisters / Charge Nurses, Clinical / Advanced Nurse Specialists and Consultant Nurses.
  • Managing a devolved budget for a number of clinical areas ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Required to contribute to the planning and execution of cost improvement programmes ensuring the quality of care is risk assessed and managed appropriately.
