Overview

An exciting opportunity at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) to join the Proton Beam Therapy Team as a Clinical Fellow from April 2026.

The post holders will be involved in advanced radiotherapy planning of patients receiving proton therapy, conducting on-treatment reviews and collecting outcomes. This offers experience in radiotherapy for children and teenagers and for sarcoma, brain and head and neck cancers. The post holder is expected to engage with clinical trials as well as review and audit of the evolving service.

This post would be suitable for a clinical oncology trainee seeking experience to augment their programmed clinical training. The post holder will be responsible to the Clinical Lead for Proton Beam Therapy. Possession of FRCR is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Attend outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary team meetings and Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) planning meetings.
  • Follow patients through their PBT treatment course: initial patient assessment, radiotherapy pre‑assessment and planning, reviewing patients on‑treatment and robust collection of clinical outcomes.
  • Engage with clinical trials and participate in review and audit of the evolving service.
  • Gain experience in the management of patients receiving PBT and learn the clinical differences between PBT and photon treatments.
