Overview

Surrey & Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust wishes to appoint a full-time Anaesthesia Fellow. This is a fixed term 24 month appointment from February 2026.

Responsibilities

Join a team of 40 Consultants, 6 SAS Grades, up to 24 Trainees, 3 Acute Pain Nurses, and 4 administrative staff. You will be expected to work flexibly through the week with commitment to the on‑call rota. The post will provide 40 hours per week of flexible working in theatres as part of the trainee on‑call rota which rolls over an 8 week period. You will also be encouraged to take part in departmental teaching, clinical governance and QI activities.

Compensation

Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service). Pay will progress up the pay steps in accordance with NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) terms and conditions. For part‑time roles you will receive a pro‑rata salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
